BACA President Awarded Order of the Star of Italy

Manama: The Italian Republic awarded Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), the Order of the Star of Italy. Andrea Catalano, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain, conferred the decoration on behalf of His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic. The honour recognises Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed's contributions and his role in strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries through projects spanning the arts, music, design, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed stated that receiving the honour is a source of pride and reflects the partnership's depth between the two sides. He noted that it encourages further efforts to deepen cooperation, strengthen cultural and civilisational relations between the Kingdom and the Italian Republic, and support cultural development. He also expressed his appreciation to the Italian Republic and the Ambassador for their cooperation in enhancing cultural exchange.

Ambassador Catalano remarked that the honour crowns the efforts undertaken by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed in advancing cooperation and strengthening strategic partnerships. He noted that the order reflects the Italian government's appreciation of his contributions to supporting mutual interests in the cultural domains and to strengthening the growing relations between the two countries.

The Order of the Star of Italy is classified among the Italian Republic's high civilian honours awarded to figures who contribute to strengthening ties of friendship and enhancing cooperation with Italy across various fields.
