Manama: An Austrian Interior Ministry delegation, led by General Mag Andreas Holzer, visited several directorates of Bahrain's Interior Ministry and the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) as part of the first joint security meeting between Bahrain and Austria. The visit underscored Bahrain's ongoing efforts to maintain security and public order, with a focus on the services offered to its citizens and residents. According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation's itinerary included a visit to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, where they were briefed on the Kingdom's initiatives to combat crime, particularly in the areas of drug and human trafficking. The Austrian officials also toured the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, gaining insights into its strategies for safeguarding the national economy against a range of threats, including cybercrimes. Further, the delegation visited the Royal Academy of Police, where they viewed a fi lm showcasing the achievements of the pace-sticking team and were introduced to the academy's academic programs aimed at enhancing skills within the workforce. Additionally, they explored the open prisons complex, receiving an overview of the efforts by the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing to expand alternative sanctions and rehabilitation programs. The delegation also spent time at the Family and Children Protection Office in the Capital Governorate Police, learning about its role in advancing family services. At the Bahrain International Circuit, the visitors were briefed on the Interior Ministry's measures to secure the Bahrain Grand Prix, highlighting the collaborative security efforts during major international events.
