Attorney General chairs GCC meeting

Manama: Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Bouainain has today chaired remotely the 13th meeting of the GCC Public Prosecutors’ meeting.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al Hajraf also attended the virtual session which was held via video conference.

Dr. Al Bouainain hailed the efforts which were exerted to implement public prosecutors’ resolutions, highlighting Bahrain’s latest legislations regarding alternative sentencing, urgent proceedings and mediation in penal cases as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to protect children and safeguard their rights.

The public prosecutors discussed key issues related to judicial cooperation, protection of children during the investigation and performance evaluation.

Bahrain’s Public Prosecution outlined its practices in implementing the alternative sentencing, for children and their protection from maltreatment, in addition to coordination between law-enforcement authorities.

A number of resolutions were issued at the end of the meeting, aimed to support the work of GCC public prosecutions.
