Assistant Undersecretary Participates in Launch Meeting for Global Halal Economy Center

Manama: Shaikh Hamad bin Salman Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic and Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, attended an introductory meeting marking the launch of the "Global Halal Economy Center" (under establishment), organized by the Bahrain Businessmen's Association at the Regency InterContinental Bahrain Hotel.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event saw the presence of key figures including Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Hindi, Chairman of the Bahrain Businessmen's Association, and Adnan Ahmed Yousif, Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Global Halal Economy Center. Officials, business leaders, investors, and representatives from the economic sector were also in attendance.

Shaikh Hamad bin Salman emphasized the increasing regional and international significance of the halal economy sector, highlighting its potential to bolster economic growth and attract investment. He praised private sector initiatives that strengthen Bahrain's status as a leading hub for the Islamic economy and halal industries.

The Assistant Undersecretary spoke about Bahrain's ongoing efforts to create an integrated framework for the halal economy through unified procedures, enhanced halal standards, and improved reliability of halal-certified products and services. He also noted the importance of initiatives that empower the private sector and bolster Bahrain's business and investment climate.

Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Hindi, Chairman of the Bahrain Businessmen's Association, referred to the halal economy as one of the world's most promising sectors and reiterated the association's commitment to supporting investment and economic initiatives.

Adnan Ahmed Yousif, Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Global Halal Economy Center, outlined the center's vision, objectives, and opportunities for international partnerships in the halal sector.

The meeting included a presentation on the global halal economy and Bahrain's future opportunities across sectors such as Islamic finance, food industries, logistics, technology, and innovation. An open discussion on the future of the halal economy and investment partnerships followed.

The "Global Halal Economy Center" aims to establish an integrated ecosystem linking finance, food industries, tourism, logistics, technology, training, and consultancy, supporting Bahrain's economic growth and the enhancement of regional and international cooperation.
