Beijing: Dr. Farzana Abdulraheem Al Maraghi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, participated as a keynote speaker at the China-GCC Language and Culture Forum, focusing on modernising Chinese language education in GCC countries using digital tools and innovative teaching methods. The forum is held on the sidelines of the World Chinese Language Conference 2025 in Beijing.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Maraghi highlighted that the conference reflects the depth of cultural and educational cooperation between China and the GCC countries. She noted that language serves as a bridge for human understanding and civilisational integration, and that teaching Chinese in the GCC represents a strategic step to strengthen relations and academic and research partnerships with China. She also drew attention to Bahrain's pioneering experience in Chinese language education through the Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain.
The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was held under the theme: "Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese without Borders", organised by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in cooperation with Beijing Language and Culture University, and attended by senior government leaders, educational authorities, and presidents of universities and colleges from around the world.
