Arab Parliament Speaker lauds launch of second edition of Princess Sabeeka Global Award

Arab Parliament Speaker, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, has lauded the launch of the second edition of the “Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment” by UN Women.

He affirmed that the prestigious award enjoys unprecedented global interest, reflecting Bahrain’s leadership in the field of women empowerment, thanks to the tremendous efforts being exerted by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).

He added that the launch of the second edition of the award is a source of pride, as it proves the advanced level reached by Bahraini women as a result of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s pioneering Reform Project which strengthened Bahraini women’s status and increased their gains across various fields.

Al-Asoomi pointed out that Bahrain’s successful women empowerment efforts are the fruitful outcomes of the support of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the SCW’s programmes and plans, making Bahraini women real partners to their male compatriots in building the nation.
