Cairo: Nabil Fahmy, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing his categorical rejection of any infringement on the security of Arab states or targeting of their territories under any pretext.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General reiterated the Arab League's full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan and its support for all measures taken by both countries to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He stressed that the security of both countries is an integral part of Arab national security.
Fahmy said the Iranian attacks represented a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries and a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
He rejected Iran's justifications for its attacks on Arab states and threats to their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, urging Iran to respect the sovereignty of Arab states.
The Secretary General stressed that maintaining regional security and stability requires adherence to the principles of international law, prioritising dialogue and responsibility, and avoiding any steps that could widen the escalation or threaten regional security and interests.
