Annual Shrimp Fishing Ban to Be Lifted on Friday

Manama: The Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE) announced that the ban on shrimp fishing will be lifted starting Friday, August 1.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ban, which was imposed in early February, is an integral part of national efforts aimed at preserving marine resources and ensuring their sustainability. The initiative reflects the General Directorate of Marine Resources' dedication to maintaining biodiversity and regulating fishing activities in accordance with international environmental standards. The overarching goal is to strike a balance between economic benefits and sustainable practices.
