Berlin: Ahmed Ibrahim Al Qurainis, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federal Republic of Germany, participated in a meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Berlin with senior officials from the German Federal Foreign Office, including Dr. Christian Buck, Director-General for Political Affairs, and Dr. Tobias Tunkel, Director for the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting was held at the Ministry's headquarters.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the meeting, the Arab ambassadors expressed their appreciation to Germany for its continued condemnation of the recent Iranian attacks targeting countries in the region. They noted that these attacks, which have struck civilian sites, critical infrastructure, and oil and gas facilities, represent a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The ambassadors also welcomed Germany's rejection of Iranian threats to close the Strait of Hormuz, emphasising that such actions would contravene international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The ambassadors further commended Germany's support for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries within international organisations, describing it as a reflection of Germany's role and its commitment to regional security and stability.
Discussions also covered the latest developments in the region, with participants underscoring the importance of maintaining a unified Arab position and supporting efforts to halt the Iranian attacks and enhance security and stability in the region.
