Manama: Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has announced the expansion of its partnership with ARRAY Innovation, a Bahrain-based leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud-native digital solutions, to launch a new technological project focused on advanced data science, machine learning, and AI for the company’s potlines.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the collaboration was announced during the Gateway Gulf 2025 Forum in the Kingdom of Bahrain, bringing together Alba’s operational expertise and ARRAY Innovation’s Quantitative Development team to deliver advanced AI-powered decision support tools for Alba’s expert operators. The project aims to model and apply AI to enhance key reactions in the aluminium reduction process, with goals such as improving energy efficiency, optimising bath temperature, and extending pot life. These solutions are expected to reduce costs, minimise maintenance downtime, improve product quality, increase process efficiency, and enhance employee safety, which remains Alba’s top priority.
