Barcelona: Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest aluminium smelter on one site, has successfully renewed its alumina supply agreement with Hydro. This renewal reaffirms their strategic partnership, announced on the sidelines of the Fastmarkets International Aluminium 2025 Conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ali Al Baqali, CEO of Alba, emphasized that the partnership with Hydro is grounded in trust and transparency, with a shared commitment to sustainability. The renewal of the agreement ensures a reliable supply of high-quality alumina for Alba's operations, reinforcing its position as a responsible aluminium producer.
Jonathan Hadley, Hydro's Senior Vice President Commercial - Bauxite and Alumina, stated that the partnership reflects their shared values and aligns with Hydro's vision to be the supplier of choice for strategic customers like Alba. The agreement was signed in the presence of senior leadership from both companies, highlighting the strategic importance of this collaboration in ensuring a consistent raw material supply for Alba's smelting operations.
