Manama: The 2025 World's Strongest Man (WSM) Championship promotes a culture of strength, challenge, and endurance while showcasing the abilities of Bahraini and Gulf youth in strength sports, Ahmed Al Shaikh, Director of the Media Office of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, said.
According to Bahrain News Agency, WSM will take place on April 18 and 19 under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Al Shaikh commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad in advancing sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, adding that His Highness's support for events like WSM consolidates the Kingdom's stance as a regional and global sports hub.
He confirmed that the organising committee has completed all technical, organisational, and logistical preparations, ensuring an ideal competition environment that meets expectations and reflects the Championship's professional standards. Al Shaikh expressed confidence that this year's edition will add to Bahrain's record of sporting achievements, especially in hosting events that attract wide local and international attention, noting WSM's growing popularity each year.
The 2025 Championship, featuring Bahrain's Strongest Man and the GCC's Strongest Man, will be held at The Avenues Bahrain. Weigh-ins will take place on Thursday, April 17, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a technical meeting scheduled from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm to outline the competition rules. The main competitions for the 2025 edition will include Carry and Load, XL Bar Deadlift, Viking Press, Wheel of Pain, Arm over Arm Pull, Hercules Hold, and Power Stairs. Lightweight, middleweight, and GCC categories will be contested across the two days, with the winners to be announced on the final day.
