AGU to Organise International Conference on AI in Medicine, Focusing on Cardiovascular and Diabetes Care

Manama: The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) will organise the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine from November 5-7, focusing on the use of AI in preventing and predicting cardiovascular disease, supporting diabetes and obesity care through continuous monitoring and personalised treatment, and enhancing medical imaging technologies for better diagnostic accuracy. This event aims to bring together experts from various fields to explore intelligent technologies in numerous medical disciplines.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference will feature sessions on AI applications in emergency departments and intensive care units, intelligent patient triage, early detection of critical conditions, and personalised treatment plans. These discussions aim to accelerate medical responses and improve healthcare quality. The event will also delve into ethical and regulatory considerations, emphasizing patient privacy and the responsible use of emerging technologies.

The conference will further investigate AI's role in advancing nursing, medical education, and precision medicine through clinical decision-support systems, remote monitoring, and developing a digitally skilled healthcare workforce. A session for medical students will highlight AI applications in education, while other sessions will explore genomics and bioinformatics, including biomarker discovery and accelerated drug development.

Hands-on workshops will conclude the conference, focusing on using AI to interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs), design clinical research studies, and analyse health data. These practical sessions underscore the integration of intelligent technologies into healthcare systems, highlighting the need to combine technological innovation with human expertise.

The conference takes place amid a growing shift towards AI in healthcare, aiming to enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of services. AGU's organisation of the event underscores its role as a scientific platform for discussing rapid transformations in vital fields related to human quality of life.

Through such events, AGU fosters knowledge exchange and showcases trends in medicine, AI, genomics, bioinformatics, and medical education. These efforts support scientific dialogue and research-based partnerships, translating innovation into practical solutions for advancing healthcare systems and addressing future challenges.
