ABBAS HEADS TO EGYPT TO MEET AL-SISI

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas headed today to Cairo to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Abbas is expected to discuss with Sisi joint coordination regarding the war on the Gaza Strip, before US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s visit to the region, according to “Russia Today”.

The Palestine Liberation Organization had previously announced its rejection of an ‘Egyptian initiative’ proposed by Cairo, which included three stages to stop the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

It attributed the reason to ‘talk about forming a Palestinian government to administer the West Bank and Gaza outside the framework of the organization’s responsibility,’ before Egypt made amendments that were welcomed by the organization.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has entered its 93rd day, as clashes and Israeli bombing continue on various areas north and south of the Strip, in light of the worsening humanitarian and health catastrophe.
