771 housing units to be built in Salman and Khalifa Towns

Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amena bint Ahmed Al Romaihi affirmed that the ministry offered 3 lands for the implementation of 771 housing units and apartments within the government land development rights program in partnership with the private sector for the bidding system in the government land investment platform.

The project included 131 housing units and 360 apartments in Salman Town, in addition to 280 housing units in Khalifa Town.

Al Romaihi reviewed the details of the projects, as she indicated that the first land in Salman Town will be developed to implement 131 housing units on an area of 25,000 square meters, and 3 other lands will be developed in the town to provide 360 apartments on an area of 25,000 square meters as well.

Khalifa Town land site, which has an area of 50,000 square meters, will be developed for the implementation of 280 housing units.

The minister said that the submission of bids for the development of lands allocated for residential apartments will end on the first of March, while the date for submitting bids for the development of lands allocated for residential units ends on March 5.

She stressed the importance of offering projects on the government land investment platform, as it is the gateway for the private sector to invest in governmental projects.

Al Romaihi explained that all information related to these projects has been included in the platform so that its available to real estate development companies.

The minister noted that these projects represent the first phase of the government land rights development program, which includes in its master plan a timetable for the implementation of 19,000 housing units in partnership with the private sector, with an investment value of BD 1 billion.

She explained that all units of these projects will be at competitive prices and suitable for beneficiaries of new housing finance.
