32 Mosques Designated as Jamea Mosques for Friday Prayers During Ramadhan

Manama: The Sunni Endowments Directorate has announced the temporary designation of 32 mosques as jamea mosques during Ramadhan, where Friday prayers will be held starting from the first Friday of the holy month. Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, emphasised the council's commitment to facilitating worshippers' needs during the holy month. He expressed appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support of religious institutions and initiatives that serve the community.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the mosques designated as jamea mosques are spread across different governorates to ensure accessibility for worshippers. In the Muharraq Governorate, the mosques include Adel Ahmadi Mosque in East Hidd, (Cabin) Haya bint Mohammed Al Bouflasa Mosque in Hidd, and Aysha Al Rasheed Mosque in Diyar Al Muharraq, among others. The Southern Governorate will see mosques like Al Ikhlas Mosque in Isa Town and Badriya Jaafar Al Murbati Mosque in East Riffa serving as jamea mosques.

In the Northern Governorate, particularly in Hamad Town, mosques such as Al Dowaisan Mosque at Roundabout 1 and (Cabin) Imam Muslim bin Al Hajjaj Mosque at Roundabout 2 have been designated for the purpose. Meanwhile, in the Capital Governorate, Saad bin Abi Waqas Mosque in Um Al Hassam will also be part of this initiative.

The Sunni Endowments Directorate's decision aims to accommodate the spiritual needs of the community during the holy month of Ramadhan, ensuring that worshippers have ample opportunities to engage in Friday prayers.
