Youth Minister praises youth’s patriotic role; announces launch of ‘Ambassadors of Bahraini Youth’ programme

Youth Affairs Minister, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, has praised the kingdom’s celebration of the Bahrain Youth Day.

She congratulated Bahraini youth on the occasion, marked in recognition of their giving and patriotic efforts, out of their strong belief in their pivotal role in enhancing the kingdom’s progress and glory, as well as in ensuring it a better future.

She indicated that the Bahrain Youth Day provides an opportunity to highlight the landmark achievements attained by youth at all levels to shed light on the kingdom’s pioneering youth model, as well as an occasion to focus on the inspiring young entrepreneurs who have set themselves as examples to be followed by others.

She affirmed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s constant interest in Bahraini youth, citing HM’s numerous meetings with them and assertion in his speeches that they are the kingdom’s inexhaustible wealth, contributing to motivating them to play their national role to the fullest.

She asserted that the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attaches great importance to Bahraini youth among its priorities, citing the government’s keenness to harness all its capabilities to them to enable them to assume their responsibilities in building the nation.

She indicated that the leadership of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, of the youth sector, and HH’s unwavering interest in meeting youth needs and turning the challenges they face into starting points to build a better future have made Bahraini youth more determined to contribute to enhancing the kingdom’s status and increasing its achievements.

The minister also paid tribute to the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his ongoing interest in Bahraini youth and keenness to develop youth competencies.

Rawan Tawfiqi affirmed the Youth Affairs Ministry’s keenness to continue implementing its youth-directed policies and programmes, in cooperation with the relevant government entities to build a generation of creative and innovative young people who are capable of taking the initiative and actively involved in making decisions that serve the Kingdom.

The minister announced the launch of the “Ambassadors of Bahraini Youth” programme.

Hopefuls shall have to present a 15-second film in which they justify why they think that the Ministry of Youth Affairs should choose them as ambassadors of Bahraini youth at external gatherings.

A specialised team shall choose those who meet specific standards and requirements, and the winners will represent the kingdom at one of the official meetings abroad, alongside the Youth Affairs Minister.
