Youth Minister: “Lamea” Programme Represents Key Milestone in Developing Youth Leadership

Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that the national "Lamea" programme represents a key milestone in developing youth leadership capabilities and contributes to preparing a generation ready to lead the future. The Minister said the programme reflects a strategic approach focused on building well-rounded personalities with the awareness and ability to make decisions, in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Tawfiqi highlighted that the fifth edition of the programme marked a shift in its approach, moving beyond what participants learn to focus on the outcomes they achieve after the experience, adding that the projects and initiatives presented by participants reflect advanced awareness and a strong ability to create impact. She noted that the programme adopted an integrated framework covering key skills, including influence, decision-making, project management, and foresight, within a practical experience that simulates real-life scenarios.

The Minister highlighted that more than 1070 applicants registered for the fifth edition, representing an increase of over 100% compared to the previous edition, reflecting growing confidence in the programme and its expanding impact. She added that the edition saw the participation of 12 national entities, reflecting strong institutional partnership, and commended the participants' commitment and positive competitiveness, noting that they represent an ambitious model of Bahraini youth capable of taking initiative and creating opportunities.

Minister Tawfiqi affirmed the ministry's commitment to continuing to develop the programme to keep pace with changes and contribute to preparing capable youth to shape and lead the future.
