Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasized the significance of the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence as a platform to underscore the values of respect, understanding, and promoting peaceful coexistence both regionally and internationally.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister pointed out that the international recognition of this day is a result of Bahrain's diplomatic endeavors at the United Nations. It reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to advancing the principles of tolerance and coexistence, as well as fostering dialogue and mutual understanding among different societies.
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi praised the efforts of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) in supporting these principles. The center plays a pivotal role through its programs and initiatives that aim to promote dialogue, acceptance, and social cohesion, especially among the youth.
The Minister further stated that the observance of this day highlights the necessity of implementing policies that encourage constructive dialogue, equality, and mutual respect. It also supports initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive societies.
