Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, actively engaged in a Shura Council session organized by its General Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA). The session focused on Bahrain's strategy to empower and support youth.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the dialogue is part of a series of discussions aimed at enhancing parliamentary performance and knowledge in legislative and oversight functions, particularly in the area of youth affairs. This initiative seeks to bolster national efforts in youth empowerment.
Minister Tawfiqi highlighted the unwavering support Bahraini youth receive from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. She affirmed that this support is instrumental in making youth contributions central to national development, facilitating opportunities for ambition and competition among young people, and advancing the Kingdom's developmental progress.
The Minister elaborated on various youth programmes and initiatives provided by the Ministry through different channels. She emphasized the Ministry's collaboration with public and private sectors and civil society organizations to create career pathways and integrate youth into the labor market.
The session further addressed the legislative authority's role in parliamentary diplomacy. Minister Tawfiqi stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with Shura Council members by sharing data and statistics on youth-related programmes, which supports Bahrain's presence in international forums and showcases its achievements in youth empowerment.
Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Director-General of BIPA, underscored the significance of the partnership between BIPA and the Shura Council in developing a legislative framework conducive to youth empowerment. She highlighted the necessity of incorporating youth aspirations into national policies to make them key contributors to innovation, public service, and sustainable growth.
Dr. Al Khalifa also emphasized the importance of coordination between government bodies and the legislature in advancing policies that support youth across priority areas. BIPA aims to implement these policies through initiatives that build youth capabilities and expand their leadership roles in national development.
The session featured contributions from Shura Council members, who stressed the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Council. They praised Minister Tawfiqi and the Ministry's efforts in empowering Bahraini youth to fulfill their aspirations.
