Works Ministry Conducts Over 46,000 Wastewater Tests in H1 2025

Manama: The Ministry of Works conducted over 46,000 laboratory tests on treated and untreated wastewater during the first half of 2025, according to Abdulnabi Hassan Ali Al Kufi, Director of the Sanitary Operation and Maintenance Directorate.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the tests covered wastewater received at treatment plants, as well as water from commercial and industrial sources. The ministry has upgraded its laboratory environment to meet ISO standards for chemical and microbiological testing.

Al Kufi highlighted that the ministry's Treated Wastewater Quality Monitoring Group received ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the GCC Accreditation Center in Saudi Arabia, reflecting efforts to ensure accuracy and quality in wastewater testing.

All wastewater treatment plants in Bahrain are subject to a comprehensive monitoring programme overseen by the ministry's laboratories, as part of its commitment to service quality, system efficiency, and sustainability.
