Women in Sport Committee at SCW Convenes for Strategic Planning

Manama: The Women in Sport Committee at the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) held its second meeting, led by Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, an SCW Member.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, who chairs the Committee, presented the Committee's work plan for the 2026-2027 period. The plan aims to offer recommendations and propose policies and programs to boost women's participation in various sports domains. It also seeks to integrate women's needs into national policies and initiatives, supporting the development of women's sport while aligning with equal opportunity and gender balance objectives. The discussions included indicators for women in sport as outlined in the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026).

Wafa Issa Aoun, a Committee member and Administrative Affairs Adviser at the General Sports Authority, shared a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities of relevant government entities in the sports sector. Her presentation emphasized the importance of strengthening partnership channels and unifying joint efforts to support and advance women's sport.
