Miami: The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami reported on Saturday that a low-pressure area located off the coast of Central America and southern Mexico could gradually strengthen early next week. There is a 50% chance it could develop into a tropical depression within the next seven days. The weather disturbance is currently moving northwest, though the NHC indicated that development within the next 48 hours is unlikely.
According to Bahrain News Agency, separately, Hurricane Erick, a Category 3 storm, struck Mexico’s southern Pacific coast on Thursday, resulting in the death of a one-year-old child before weakening.
