Washington: US Vice President Kamala Harris promised to keep up “the fight that fueled” her campaign, while conceding the election to the Republican contender Donald Trump on Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Harris addressed a crowd of her supporters at her alma mater, Howard University, where she stated, “The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but — the light of America’s promise will always burn bright.” She emphasized the importance of accepting the election results to preserve democracy, contrasting this with Trump’s reaction when he lost to President Joe Biden and Harris in 2020.
Harris mentioned her conversation with President-elect Trump, congratulating him on his victory and assuring him of support in the transition, emphasizing a commitment to a peaceful transfer of power. Despite conceding, Harris affirmed that her fight for freedom, opportunities, justice, and dignity for all people would continue, highlighting these as the h
igh ideals of the nation.
