US Congress Delegation Visits Expat Protection Centre in Bahrain

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) received a delegation from the United States Senate and House of Representatives. LMRA officials highlighted Bahrain's efforts in developing the labour market and modernising procedures to ensure fairness and stability in the work environment, as well as the Kingdom's initiatives to combat human trafficking.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation was briefed on the centre's role in providing preventive, legal, and advisory services, in addition to sheltering victims and potential victims of human trafficking. The delegation was also briefed on the Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, which trains frontline professionals from various sectors, equipping them with the necessary skills to identify and assist trafficking victims effectively.
