New york city: Ambassador Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, participated in the annual consultative ministerial meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States, chaired by the United Arab Emirates, the current President of the Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. It was attended by a number of Foreign Ministers of Arab States and the Secretary-General of the League.
The meeting discussed topics on the agenda of the current session of the United Nations General Assembly, with a view to supporting the coordination of Arab states' positions on the issues raised. It emphasised the importance of cooperation, coordination, and advancing mechanisms of joint Arab action toward greater integration and solidarity, serving the interests of Arab states, consolidating the foundations of security and stability, and fulfilling the aspirations of their people for development and prosperity.
The meeting also exchanged views on the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause, as well as on international efforts to ease tensions and de-escalate the situation in the region.
