Under Patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, First AMMA Youth Championship Kicks Off Friday

Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the first Asian Mixed Martial Arts (AMMA) Youth Championship will begin on Friday at Khalifa Sports City, with the participation of young talents from across Asia and under the supervision of the Asian MMA Association. The event highlights the Kingdom of Bahrain's growing role as a host of major combat sports competitions.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohamed Ali Qambar, the President of the Bahrain MMA Federation and head of the organising committee, confirmed that preparations are complete and that Bahrain is ready for welcoming athletes and delegations from across Asia. He emphasised that this first edition would stand out at all levels.

He also noted that the support of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad made it possible to prepare thoroughly, reflecting Bahrain's longstanding reputation for hosting major sporting events.

Qambar added that all logistical, technical and organisational arrangements have been finalised in cooperation with the Asian MMA Association and with support from Bahraini sports bodies. He highlighted that the championship serves as an important step ahead of the Asian Youth Games in October.
