Under Patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, Bahrain to Host Second GWECCC Conference

Manama: Under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, the second edition of the Global Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress is set to commence on September 9 under the theme "Sustainable Water and Energy Transition - Innovating for a Secure Future". The conference will explore the interconnection between water, energy, and climate change, offering solutions to adapt to global challenges and highlighting initiatives that balance development with environmental sustainability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event is expected to draw over 3,000 participants from 30 countries, featuring 150 speakers from more than 250 specialised local, regional, and international companies. The conference programme includes a ministerial session, leadership dialogue sessions, roundtables, a youth forum, a technology forum, and a hackathon competition for Gulf university students to propose innovative solutions to sector challenges.

An accompanying exhibition will feature specialised companies presenting the latest technologies and practices in water, energy, and climate. A creative corner will be dedicated to showcasing innovative projects, allowing start-ups to present modern solutions and technologies in sustainability and energy.

The conference is organised by Nexus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Oil and Environment, and coordinated with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), relevant government institutions in the GCC countries, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The event is supported by prominent companies, including Bapco Energies, Saudi Aramco, and ACWA Power.
