New york: Ant³nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, welcomed the announcement by the United States to extend the ceasefire.
According to Bahrain News Agency, St©phane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that this move is an important step toward de-escalation, paving the way for diplomacy and confidence-building between Iran and the United States.
He emphasized the need for all parties involved to build on the momentum, urging them to refrain from actions that could jeopardize the ceasefire and to engage constructively in negotiations aimed at reaching a sustainable and lasting resolution.
The Secretary-General expressed full support for Pakistan's efforts in facilitating further talks. He hopes these efforts will contribute toward establishing conditions that are conducive to a comprehensive and durable resolution to the conflict.
