Manama: Dr. Abdul Hannan Magarang Tago, Executive President of the Ulama Supreme Council of the Philippines for Peace and Development, underscored the importance of strengthening ties with Islamic countries, particularly Arab countries, given their intellectual contributions and influential role in addressing issues facing the Islamic nation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Tago highlighted the significance of the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference, under the theme "One Nation, One Shared Destiny," in promoting rapprochement among Islamic sects. He emphasised that open dialogue and the acceptance of diverse perspectives are fundamental to fostering unity and coexistence within the Islamic nation.
He stressed the role of scholars, jurists, religious references, and Islamic leaders, whose voices are widely respected, in advancing intra-Islamic dialogue. He also noted the contributions of women and youth, as they represent a vital segment of Muslim societies.
Dr. Tago highlighted the importance of the Arabic language, the language of the Holy Quran, which he and his colleagues have dedicated themselves to learning, as it serves as a key tool for communication and cooperation with Arab countries.
He emphasised the significance of Bahrain hosting the conference, as it brings together representatives from diverse sects in a structured and constructive dialogue. He commended the event for facilitating discussions among scholars, jurists, women, youth, and political figures, reinforcing the role of dialogue in deepening mutual understanding among Muslims.
