UK trade deficit narrows down to nearly USD 21 bln – data


Britain posted a sharp drop in its overall trade deficit in May by some USD 2.96 billion, lowering the figure down to nearly USD 21 billion, government data showed on Thursday.

Britain’s exports had risen in April to some USD 38.1 billion, while imports were worth nearly USD 59 billion, according to Office for National Statistics data, which showed a decline in trade deficit with the EU to some USD 13.6 billion.
