The UAE on Friday welcomed the final communique of Cairo-hosted summit of Sudan’s neighbors, stressing the significance of protecting Sudan and maintaining its unity.
The UAE Foreign Ministry called, in a press release, for fully respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and preventing interference in its internal affairs.
The ministry underlined the importance of stepping up efforts to ensure a ceasefire, return to the political framework and dialogue, and go ahead with the transitional phase, leading up to political and security stability in this Arab country.
In their final statement, the participants in the Cairo-held summit of Sudan’s neighboring countries emphasized that it was essential to resolve its internal conflict by peaceful means and to launch a political process that could meet the expectations and hopes of the Sudanese people.
