Abu dhabi: The UAE's trade in telecommunication services grew by 4.3% in 2024, reaching AED10.2 billion compared to AED9.8 billion in 2023, according to the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the fourth quarter of 2024 saw the highest performance, recording AED2.70 billion, a 12.95% increase year on year. Exports of telecom services rose by 6.49% to AED4.9 billion, while imports increased by 2.38% to AED5.3 billion, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Quarterly contributions to the annual total were led by the fourth quarter at 26.45%, followed by the third quarter (25.34%), the second quarter (25.05%), and the first quarter (23.17%).
The data highlights the telecom sector's growing role in advancing the UAE's digital economy and infrastructure development.
