Gaza strip: Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has delivered nine tankers of potable water to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in the Gaza Strip. This initiative aims to support efforts to provide water to both residents and displaced individuals, enhancing access to water in various areas as water needs continue to grow.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Dar Al Ber Society and Fujairah Charity Association played a key role in providing these tankers. Their contribution is part of broader humanitarian efforts to support the residents of the Gaza Strip and local authorities, boosting their capacity to provide essential water services. The tankers were officially handed over during a press conference attended by representatives from local and international organizations, as well as mayors, mukhtars, community leaders, and media outlets.
Mahmoud Hassanein, Director of the Projects Department at the Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 Support Committee, confirmed the United Arab Emirates' ongoing commitment to supporting vital sectors in the Gaza Strip amidst the current water crisis. He stated that the provision of water tankers is part of the operation's mission to enhance water relief programs, supply drinking water, and strengthen the ability of local authorities to meet the needs of residents.
Dr. Omar Shatat, Deputy Director General of the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility, highlighted the ongoing support from Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 and the UAE for local authorities and municipalities, particularly in the fields of water and sanitation services. He mentioned that numerous projects implemented in recent years have helped alleviate water shortages and improve water delivery to residents, including a water transmission line that serves approximately 700,000 displaced people.
Since October 2023, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has provided a total of 50 water tankers to bolster the water sector in Gaza. This initiative is part of the UAE's sustained support for water and sanitation services, including the provision of necessary equipment and supplies to local authorities and municipalities.
