UAE President Discusses Bilateral Relations and Regional Developments with Syrian Counterpart

Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

According to Bahrain News Agency, both sides reviewed the longstanding relations between the two countries. They discussed means to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation across various domains, particularly in the developmental and economic sectors, in a manner that serves mutual interests and brings benefit and prosperity to their peoples.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional issues of mutual interest, foremost among them current developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on maritime security and the global economy.

President Al Sharaa reiterated his country's condemnation and strong denunciation of the Iranian attacks targeting civilians and key facilities in the UAE and a number of countries in the region, describing them as a blatant violation of sovereignty and international law and a threat to regional security and stability. He also commended the efficiency of the measures taken by the UAE to preserve its security, stability, and the safety of its territory.

Both sides affirmed their shared commitment to continuing to advance bilateral relations to more advanced levels, in a manner that contributes to achieving their aspirations for development and prosperity and building a stable and sustainable future.
