UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Wins 42 Medals at World Championship in Greece.

Heraklion: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, concluded its participation in the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Heraklion, Greece, with a total of 42 medals, including 11 gold, 13 silver, and 18 bronze. According to Bahrain News Agency, the tournament's final day witnessed the UAE's boys and girls excelling in the U18 and U21 categories, securing eight medals, which comprised two gold, four silver, and two bronze. In the U18 boys' category, Ahmed Andees clinched the gold medal in the 69kg weight class, while Thani Al Mehairi took silver in the same category. Additionally, Abdulaziz Saud Al Akidi earned a bronze medal in the 77kg category, and Ali Al Tunaiji secured another bronze in the 85kg category. In the U21 girls' category, Mariam Al Ali achieved gold in the 45kg division. Balqees Al Hashmi (48kg), Aysha Alshamsi (45kg), and Mahra Mahfouz (70kg) each claimed silver medals. Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, praised the athletes' achie vements, emphasizing the Federation's successful youth development and performance enhancement programs, which are supported by the nation's leadership in promoting sports.
