Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, engaged in telephone discussions with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the efforts that led to the ceasefire agreement, describing it as a significant contribution to enhancing security and stability in South Asia. He emphasized that this development serves the interests of both nations and the wider region.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed highlighted that the initiative forms a solid foundation for enhancing regional peace, noting the close historical relations between the UAE and both India and Pakistan. The UAE Foreign Minister reiterated his country's support for the efforts of Jaishankar and Dar to promote peace and sustainable development. He emphasized that dialogue remains the most effective means to resolve disputes and foster relations between the two countries.
