UAE Expresses Regret Over Security Council Failure on Hormuz Resolution

The united arab emirates: The United Arab Emirates expressed regret over the United Nations Security Council's failure to adopt a clear framework for international cooperation aimed at ending Iran's illegal attacks and threats to the global economy, following the failure to pass a draft resolution calling for the immediate cessation of all attacks on vessels and attempts to impede navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the UAE stressed the need for the Strait of Hormuz to remain open to all and for freedom of navigation to be preserved, affirming that no country should have the ability to disrupt the arteries of global trade or push the world towards the brink of an economic crisis.

The statement noted that the Security Council's failure to respond does not diminish the seriousness of the crisis or the UAE's determination to address it, expressing appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its leadership at the Security Council and its diplomatic efforts in this regard.

The UAE affirmed that it would continue to mobilise international efforts to restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and work with partners to ensure maritime security and the flow of global trade.
