Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted seven ballistic missiles and 27 UAVs that were launched from Iran on 13th March. The interception is a part of ongoing efforts by the UAE to counter persistent threats.
According to Bahrain News Agency, since the beginning of Iranian hostilities, UAE air defences have engaged a total of 285 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,567 UAVs. These aggressive actions have tragically resulted in six fatalities, affecting nationals from the UAE, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Additionally, 141 individuals have suffered minor to moderate injuries, impacting people from a wide range of countries including Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and the Philippines, among others.
The UAE Ministry of Defence has issued a statement affirming its preparedness to respond to any threats. The Ministry emphasizes its commitment to confronting attempts that undermine the state’s security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty and stability, and safeguarding national interests and capabilities.
