UAE Air Defences Engage 19 Ballistic Missiles and 26 UAVs from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defences engaged 19 ballistic missiles and 26 UAVs launched from Iran on April 2. Since the onset of these Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have responded to a significant number of threats.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that since the start of the Iranian attacks, the UAE air defences have engaged a total of 457 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 2,038 UAVs. These engagements highlight the ongoing tensions and the challenges faced by the UAE in ensuring national security.

The attacks have led to the loss of lives, including two members of the UAE armed forces and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces. Additionally, there were nine fatalities among individuals of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationalities.

The incidents have also resulted in injuries to 191 individuals, with the severity of injuries ranging from minor to severe. The injured include nationals from a wide range of countries, reflecting the diverse expatriate community in the UAE. The affected nationalities include UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.
