Two Fatalities and Six Missing After Severe Flooding in Central China’s Henan Province

Nanyang: Two people have died and six others are missing following heavy rainfall in Xixia County, Nanyang, central China's Henan Province, as reported by the local emergency response headquarters on Tuesday. Torrential downpours led to a significant rise in water levels, causing destruction and trapping residents.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the region experienced a total precipitation of 225.3 mm in two townships, causing a rapid surge in the downstream water levels of a local river on Monday. This sudden flood damaged infrastructure and left some residents stranded, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Rescue efforts were quickly initiated, resulting in the successful rescue of two individuals. Authorities are continuing search and rescue operations to locate the remaining missing persons.
