Ankara: Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Trkiye, said that Trkiye will continue its diplomatic efforts to stop the bloodshed and prevent the conflict in the region from spreading.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Turkish President warned that missile and drone attacks launched from Iran toward countries in the region increase the risk of the conflict spreading more widely.
In remarks delivered on Thursday in Ankara, President Erdogan stressed that Trkiye will not hesitate to ensure the security of its borders and airspace, affirming that all necessary measures will be taken in coordination with allies to confront any threat to the country's security. He also called for avoiding positions that harm relations of good neighbourliness and brotherhood.
The Turkish President referred to the ballistic munition detected heading toward Turkish airspace yesterday, noting that the necessary warnings had been issued to prevent such incidents from recurring. He stressed that the Turkish government is exerting all efforts to protect its people and interests from the risks resulting from the current crisis.
President Erdogan reaffirmed that Trkiye will continue its diplomatic efforts to prevent further civilian casualties, expressing regret over the international community's stance of watching developments in the region without effective action.
