Turkish Defense announces the killing of /48/ PKK militants in air strikes in northern Iraq and Syria


The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of /48/ PKK militants in northern Iraq and Syria during the past seven days.

The Spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Zaki Ak Turk, said in a media briefing on Thursday: ‘The number of terrorists who have been neutralized since the first of last January has reached 1,048 terrorists, including 512 in northern Iraq and 536 in northern Syria.’

Turk indicated in his briefing that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) takes the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq as its stronghold, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys, from which it launches attacks into the Turkish interior, and that the Turkish army is working hard to dry up the sources of terrorism.
