Turkey: Turkey announced that it intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iran and heading towards Turkish airspace. In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Defence said the missile was neutralised at the appropriate time by NATO air and missile defence elements in the eastern Mediterranean, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the statement added that a piece of debris fell in the Dortyol district of Hatay province and was identified as part of air defence munitions used during the interception after the threat had been destroyed in the air. No casualties or injuries were reported.
The ministry confirmed that all necessary measures would be taken to defend Turkish territory and airspace decisively and without hesitation.
