Ankara: Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, engaged in discussions with Fatih Birol, the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), to explore potential cooperation opportunities in the lead-up to the COP31 climate conference, which Turkey is set to host later this year.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bayraktar emphasized Trkiye's ambition to become a significant player in the global energy transition. This ambition is underscored by the country's commitment to energy investments and achieving the 2053 Net Zero Emissions target. Bayraktar highlighted that discussions with the International Energy Agency are part of the broader efforts to maximize the opportunities presented by hosting COP31 in November.
