Transportation Ministry Launches Electric Vehicle Charging Station at Headquarters

Manama: The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications launched an electric vehicle charging station at its headquarters as part of a joint initiative with Zayani Investments and Al Salam Bank to support sustainable mobility and encourage the use of electric vehicles. The initiative included installing the charging station, designating a parking space for electric vehicles, and installing relevant signage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Fatima Abdulla Al Dhaen, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Postal Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, stated that the initiative supports the development of sustainable transport and the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies and solutions. She emphasised the importance of providing infrastructure for sustainable mobility and strengthening private sector partnerships to support practical sustainability initiatives and reduce carbon emissions.

A number of electric vehicles were also displayed at the ministry's headquarters to introduce employees to available technologies, models, and the benefits of electric vehicles. Zayani Investments and Al Salam Bank highlighted the importance of public-private sector cooperation in expanding electric vehicle infrastructure, promoting sustainable transport options, and reducing environmental impact.
