London: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, has underlined Bahrain's dedication to enhancing strategic cooperation with the United Kingdom, especially in aviation, space, and digital innovation. This commitment is in line with the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aimed at supporting mutual interests and sustainable development goals.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister met with senior officials from Farnborough International in London to discuss preparations for the eighth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow. Scheduled to take place from November 18 to 20, 2026, at Sakhir Air Base, the event will be held under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, along with the Royal Bahraini Air Force and in collaboration with Farnborough International, is organizing the event.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed highlighted the ministry's early preparations, following directives from His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Bahrain International Airshow. He emphasized that the airshow will reinforce Bahrain's status as a leading regional hub in the aviation industry and as a global platform for technological innovation, investment opportunities, and international partnerships.
The minister expressed optimism for another successful airshow, which will further cement Bahrain's role in advancing international cooperation in civil and military aviation, transportation, research, communications, technology, and space sciences.
Senior officials from Farnborough International praised the ongoing collaboration with Bahrain and the minister's commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership for the 2026 airshow. They stressed their commitment to staying aligned with the latest innovations in global exhibition practices and ensuring the participation of leading manufacturers, operators, and investors in the aviation and space sectors.
