Transportation Minister Participates in Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference

Limassol: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference held in Limassol from 6 to 8 October 2025. The event was conducted under the theme "Unlocking the Future ...of Shipping" and under the patronage of His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the main conference session, the Transportation Minister reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to developing a modern and sustainable maritime transport system. This includes enhancing environmental standards and advanced technologies, as well as attracting more regional and international maritime and trade initiatives to support the sustainable development of the national economy and shared interests.

He highlighted Bahrain's dedication to enhancing cooperation and partnerships with countries and international organisations involved in the maritime transport sector. This effort aims to exchange expertise and adopt best global practices in maritime safety and environmental protection. Additionally, he confirmed the kingdom's ongoing implementation of national strategies to develop ports, infrastructure, and logistics services. This initiative is set to reinforce Bahrain's position as a leading maritime and commercial hub in the region, supporting its digital transformation and green economy goals.

The conference serves as an international platform, bringing together executives and maritime industry leaders worldwide to discuss current issues and trends in the shipping industry. It addresses challenges and proposes practical solutions to enhance maritime transport and global partnerships. The current conference welcomed over 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries, featuring specialised sessions and workshops in the maritime transport sector, with experts and speakers from local, regional, and international organisations.
