Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, underscored Bahrain's commitment to promoting humanitarian values, dialogue, and coexistence.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed highlighted that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stands as a model of religious and cultural harmony, rooted in its national values and comprehensive development process.
Marking World Interfaith Harmony Week, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed described Bahrain as a modern and inclusive country that upholds freedom of belief and religious practice without discrimination, fostering a society built on tolerance and justice. The minister highlighted the occasion as an opportunity to strengthen human unity and reaffirm the UN General Assembly's recognition of interfaith dialogue as a cornerstone of global peace and harmony.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed underscored Bahrain's model of coexistence as an example of promoting mutual respect and unity amid growing conflicts and extremism. The minister also commended Bahrain's initiatives and diplomatic efforts, led by HM the King, to promote harmony, stability, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed noted that Bahrain's hosting of interfaith conferences, establishment of institutions dedicated to coexistence, and launch of international awards reflect its commitment to promoting cross-cultural dialogue and reinforcing its role in advancing peace. The minister underscored the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence's commitment to promoting Bahrain's message of dialogue and equality, highlighting the Land of Harmony exhibition as an example of the Kingdom's role as a global example of tolerance.
The minister also commended the centre's initiatives and collaborations aimed at promoting global harmony, emphasising the need for enhanced solidarity to uphold fundamental human values and contribute to a safer, more prosperous world.
