Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, recently conducted field visits to various telecommunications companies in Bahrain to assess the sector's operational readiness and precautionary measures. The objective was to ensure the continuity of essential services amidst regional developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa visited a Batelco branch at City Centre Bahrain. He was joined by Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon, and other executive members to evaluate the company's network readiness and procedures for maintaining uninterrupted telecommunications services.
Additionally, he visited the STC Bahrain branch at the same location. There, Khalid Al Osaimi, the company's Chief Executive Officer, briefed him on the technical and operational strategies designed to enhance network efficiency and service continuity.
The Minister's tour also included Zain Bahrain's headquarters in Seef District, where he met with Managing Director Mohammed Abdullah Zainalabedin. They discussed efforts to bolster network strength and technical capabilities to ensure reliable telecommunications services.
Further, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed visited BNET, meeting with CEO Ahmed Jaber Al Doseri. He was informed about the company's initiatives to improve the Kingdom's digital infrastructure and its emergency response plans for uninterrupted connectivity.
Throughout his visits, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed stressed the importance of maintaining high readiness levels across the telecommunications sector, which is vital for national security and digital infrastructure. He praised the companies for their efforts to enhance technical capabilities and rapid response mechanisms for emergencies.
